diy: distressed tank
taking a little, okay a LOT of inspiration from the raquel allegra dress worn by erin wass<3n, i just spent the last 3 hours of tonight listening to david bowies rock n’ roll suicide on repeat while tediously pulling at each individual thread of my old hanes tank. i seriously almost gave up after hour 1 but im so god damn glad i didnt, i am OBSESSED with my new shirt/dress. (its long, my hanes beater was a large.) this now sheer destroyed shirt is literally a must in ever grungy fashionistas ward drobe. i cant wait to pair it with some black skinnies and booties or put my lace slip under it and throw on my leather!!!
ive seen these shirts on sale for over 150$ but its soo simple, all you need is a seam ripper and some patience. shhh, im going to perfect this technique then make a tutorial for you to follow.(i promise its time well spent!!)

Erin Wasson X RVCA
One collection that I did get to check out this Mercedes Benz Fashion week and consequently feel hard in “likelove” with was Erin Wasson’s line for surf/skate brand, RVCA. First of all, I don’t want you guys to think I am knocking all lower-priced designer lines or collaborations—because I’m not. I am a full supporter of what Target does with high-end designers I am especially down with the Botkier X Target handbag collection (shown below). And I often shop the H&M sale racks.
However, I am a HUGE advocate of the newest collaboration in high-low fashion collaborations: Erin Wasson X RVCA. “I was inspired by the streets of New York City and the beach culture of Southern California. I believe that blending these two distinct, yet casual styles is more than just clothing, it is an expression of soul,” says Wasson. Erin Wasson is a big-time fashion model doing everything from editorials in French, German, Spanish and Australian Vogue, Numero, and Elle magizines to runway shows for Armani, Balenciaga, Cavalli, Gucci, and Karl Lagerfeld. She also worked as stylist for young designer, Alexander Wang. It is safe to say that Wasson has quite a bit of fashion experience at this point in her 27-year-old life. Consequently proven through her 2nd collection. I liked her Spring / Summer line (hitting stores now), but I actually LOVE her Fall 2009 Line.
